Sunday supper: not chicken

photo 4

ever feel like if you eat another piece of chicken, you will die? i mean actually die? yeah, me too. so, perusing the meat counter for something, anything to buy for dinner tonight that wasn’t the same old thing we’ve had 100 times this month, the other white meat seemed like a good change of pace. or at least it was pre-marinated and a different shape. oh. and ixnay on the ashed-potatoes-may, too. i mean, how in a rut can i be? oh yeah, and maybe one of these days, i’ll have an actual recipe to share in one of these posts. ha. who am i kidding?

  1. Hormel Always Tender Lemon Garlic Pork Loin Filet — these things are actually really good. i’ve tried a few of the flavors and this one is a favorite. my dieting self also loves that it’s only 130 calories for 4 ounces and 3 ounces is really enough.

  2. Alessi Risotto con Funghi Porcini — not so diet friendly, but so creamy and yum. i could literally sit and eat the whole pot with a spoon.

  3. sautéed squash and zucchini — okay, so one really standard household item tonight. but i think it’s Spy’s fave veggie dish, so it really can’t go anywhere. i just slice it up and sautée it in a little olive oil, with some onion and a little of that Morton’s seasoning i use on everything.

here’s to more rut-busting in other areas this week!
